As a dedicated bass and ukulele player, I have long recognized the piano as a valuable tool for understanding music theory, despite my limited proficiency. Previous tools I encountered often complicated the creative process rather than facilitating it, which led me to channel my passion for music technology into the creation of Chordi. This app aims to streamline the process of music exploration for users across various skill levels. From novices to experienced musicians, Chordi is designed to foster creativity and facilitate seamless musical composition.

With a strong belief in democratizing music education, I am pleased to offer Chordi as a free resource—eliminating barriers such as subscriptions and locked features. It is intended to empower individuals in their musical journeys without restriction.

Play with Ease

• Effortlessly tap notes or construct full chords.
• Select chord qualities (e.g., maj7 or m) prior to choosing root notes.
• Experiment with various chord inversions and voicings.
• Utilize the Octaver and Bass buttons to enhance your composition with bass notes or octaves.
• Engage with Hold mode for layering melodies atop chords.

Creative Modes

• Free Mode: Explore freely by tapping notes or building chords without limitations.
• Key Mode: Choose a scale and key while Chordi suggests fitting chords, including triads, sevenths, secondary dominants, and modal interchange. Receive recommendations based on established chord progression rules.
• Replay Mode: An innovative alternative to traditional loopers, allowing users to revisit their musical ideas effortlessly. Recordings made in Free or Key Mode are stored automatically, with options to delete individual events or adjust session parameters before exporting as MIDI files.

Rhythm Modes

• Normal Mode: Perform single notes or full chords with various modifiers.
• Arpeggiator Mode: Convert chords into arpeggios (experimental feature).
• Strummer Mode: Strum chords as if playing a guitar or harp (experimental feature).

Customization Options

• Easily adjust sections of the app according to personal preferences, including reordering and resizing elements for an optimized workspace.

MIDI Integration

• Easily connect your MIDI keyboard or link Chordi with your DAW using USB MIDI input/output support.

Sound Engines

• Soundfont Player: Engage with curated sampled sounds including Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Organ, and Grand Piano.
• Synthesizer: Explore sound creation through Chordi’s built-in synthesizer (experimental feature with occasional performance issues).
• Sound Settings: Customize effects and adjust sound parameters for personalized audio experiences.

Please note that optimal audio quality is achieved through wired headphones or speakers; wireless Bluetooth headphones may introduce slight latency issues.
